Important Information About Student Loans
Due to the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibilty Act (SAFRA) that was signed into law, PG&W Employees FCU will no longer be able to offer FFELP student loans to our members. SAFRA eliminates the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) which PG&W Emp FCU offered and mandates that all schools and students process through the US Dept of Education.
PG&W Employees FCU and AES will continue to make subsequent disbursments on all Stafford, PLUS, and GradPLUS and Consolidation loans that were originally disbursed prior to July 1, 2010. We encourage members in need of student loan funding to contact their Financial Aid Office at the school they are attending or planning to attend for the upcoming 2010-2011 academic year.
